Jim Shields has over 25 years experience in the telecommunications
industry where he has designed and architected carrier grade solutions
for optical transport and switching systems, including all aspects of
OAM (Operation Administration and Management). He leads the product
design authority team at Intune with responsibility for system design
and architecture.
He worked for Nortel for 12 years where he led the ASON (Automatically Switched Optical Network) Development Team. He was Senior Advisor for Advanced Networks in the CTO Office of Nortel, and most recently he was the Product Line Manager at OpenWave developing Wireless Network products. He has a PhD in Photonics from the University of Ulster and is a Chartered Engineer with the IEE.
